Guide Overview
What this guide will help you do
A useful swap fixes one repeated team problem: no safe entry, no protected backline, or no reliable finish. This guide turns the thirty seconds between fights into a simple diagnosis and regroup routine.
Hero pool
Two comfort picks plus one problem-solving pick
Review window
Use the last two complete teamfights
Swap rule
Change one matchup or team function at a time
Regroup rule
Do not spend an ultimate into a lost stagger
Name the lost team function
The scoreboard shows outcomes; the fight replay explains the cause.
- No one can cross open space: add a safer entry or more cover control.
- Your backline falls before the fight begins: shorten sightlines and assign peel.
- Targets escape at low health: focus the same reachable target instead of adding more damage.
- The team dies one by one: solve regroup timing before changing heroes.
Swap with a one-sentence objective
A controlled swap is easier for the whole team to understand.
State the problem
Say what ended the last two fights without blaming a player.
Choose the function
Add entry, protection, pressure, or finishing power—not simply a favorite hero.
Preserve resources
Avoid abandoning a nearly ready ultimate unless the current pick cannot participate safely.
Test twice
Give the new setup two grouped fights before judging it.
Give every fight four checkpoints
Short calls keep six individual plans aligned.
- Stage behind cover until the team is present.
- Force or wait for the one defensive ability that blocks the entry.
- Commit movement and ultimates together, not in separate waves.
- After one or two eliminations, secure space instead of chasing into the next spawn.
Review decisions, not only accuracy
A small post-match note builds a better hero pool.
Two-fight rule
Do not rebuild the composition after one unusual fight. Look for the same failure in two grouped attempts, then change one function.
- Keep one matchup where the swap clearly improved access or survival.
- Record one ultimate used after the fight was already decided.
- Remove a hero from the pool if its basic rotation is not yet automatic.
- Practice the missing mechanic before the next ranked session.
